Where and When to
Meet in Person
More fun places to meet
people include parties, cruises, movies, and dances.
Parties give you the leg up
that you both must have someone in common, and if it is a good
party the music is ideal and not to loud so conversation can
flow freely. Cruises are an awesome vacation for singles,
especially if you’re not there with the soul purpose of
finding someone but you really just want to have a good time
relaxing or celebrating with friends. If you happen to stumble
upon someone who sparks your fancy just be aware that the
vacation atmosphere hasn’t sunk so deep to distort what would
realistically work for a compatible relationship. For example
if they work on the cruise ship and are going to at sea for
the next two years, and quality time is important to you, you
might want to reconsider the longevity of the relationship.
Also, stop simply waiting…in
lines that is. When you’re in line for buying a movie ticket
stay aware as far as you is around you and if you’re attracted
to them. If so start a conversation about the movie they are
seeing. Who knows if all goes well, you could end up deciding
on the same movie and sharing a popcorn. Yadda, yadda, yadda
then conversation and dinner, drinks, or ice cream could
follow if both of you are feeling the vibe. Another great
option is going to salsa, or swing, or any dance type class
that has a dance social following. Just the class is great but
a little to structure to give you the ultimate opportunities
to discover all of your options. The actually dance allows
everyone to loosen up, become energized and laugh their way
through the evening.
Some other not so obvious but
equally ideal spots are grocery stores, bus stops,
Laundromats, bookstores, restaurants, and airplanes. When
shopping for your weekly stash of pistachios and Captain
Crunch take a detour into the produce section and “display”
your self if you will. Questions are an easy conversation
starter in this culinary hot spot, so have some recipes ready
for swapping. Who knows someone may end up wanting you to try
their amazing ginger chicken in person. The bus stop offers a
familiar environment with familiar faces. It also gives you
time to gradually work into becoming particularly friendly
with a person specifically. When this is at a comfortable
place you two can then sit together when you ride, and
eventually hang out in non-bus related activities as well.
